TNT Materials Wins Top NRMCA Environmental Honor
TNT Materials Earns 1st Place in NRMCA’s 2026 Environmental Excellence Awards
TNT Materials, a Teichert Family Company, has won 1st Place in the Western Region of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s (NRMCA) 2026 Commitment to Environmental Excellence Awards. Located in Truckee, California, the recognition reflects programs built over decades – such as managing process water through a custom, underground, closed-loop water recovery system that actively suspends fines and recycles process water and fines back into the plant for reuse. In the field, mixer trucks use custom chute rinse buckets to capture and recycle rinse water back into plant operations, a voluntary practice maintained for more than 20 years, not required by State or local regulations.
TNT also integrates CarbonCure CO₂ sequestration into every batch it produces and runs its entire fleet on 100% renewable diesel (RD100), cutting lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by 50–90% and making it one of the region’s top RD100 users. The plant has also served for more than 20 years as the sole approved manufacturer of concrete marine buoys and fish habitat for Lake Tahoe, one of the most environmentally protected lakes in the world.
