Tuolumne River Floodplain Salmon Habitat Restoration

Wetland Construction & Restoration | La Grange, California

Triangle Land Restoration worked with the Tuolumne River Trust (now Yosemite River Alliance) and FlowWest to reconstruct floodplains, create riffles, and install native plantings in the Tuolumne River, near La Grange, CA.

Scope of Work

This project required the removal of haul road bridge debris left since the 1960's out of the waterway. The debris had historically changed the river's flow and blocked salmon migration. The purpose of this habitat reconstruction and the removal of migratory obstacles is to create, enhance, and establish floodplain and instream habitats to benefit spawning and juvenile Chinook Salmon.
