Tesoro Viejo Master Development
Tesoro Viejo is a master-planned community located north of the San Joaquin River on Highway 41 in Madera County, positioned as an extension area for the City of Fresno's residential and commercial growth. Teichert Construction has served as the general contractor since the project first broke ground in 2017 and continues working on site today, making this one of our longest-running and most comprehensive development partnerships.
Scope of Work
Over the life of the project, Teichert has performed rough grading, underground utilities, and topside improvements across multiple phases of the development. Notable work includes the installation of a sanitary sewer lift station with twin 24 HP pumps housed in a 120-inch diameter by 35-foot deep wet well, along with interior plumbing and electrical panel components that tie into a 12-inch sanitary sewer force main Teichert had previously installed. Teichert is also slated to install two temporary sanitary sewer lift stations in additional segments, allowing portions of the development to function independently of the overall system as the community continues to grow.
Innovation & Technology
To deliver a high-quality product on a tight schedule, Teichert deployed PlanGrid, a construction productivity platform that gives crews and stakeholders real-time access to project plans, issues, photos, and documents. The owner had full access alongside the Teichert team, providing transparency and enabling fast resolution of utility, design, and coordination issues throughout construction.
The team also utilized ground penetrating radar and GPS technology to accurately identify and map all known and unknown utilities on site. GPS allowed Teichert to pinpoint the depth of each utility and collaborate with the owner and designer to adjust alignments, accelerating construction where possible and minimizing impacts. Together, these platforms gave every crew member real-time access to evolving plans and site conditions, helping minimize cost impacts and ensuring on-time delivery.
Value Engineering
Teichert's commitment to the project extended beyond execution into proactive problem-solving. During the installation of a new prefabricated bridge, the team identified wingwalls and foundations in the original design that were functionally unnecessary. By working collaboratively with the owner and developer, Teichert eliminated the unneeded elements and delivered meaningful cost savings without compromising the integrity of the structure.
A Lasting Partnership
Tesoro Viejo represents the kind of long-term relationship Teichert values most. Spanning multiple years and phases of development, the project reflects our ability to grow alongside a client, adapt to evolving needs, and consistently deliver quality work from rough grading through finished infrastructure. It is a partnership built on trust, transparency, and results.
