Pacheco Creek Restoration

Wetland Construction & Restoration | Santa Clara County, California

Triangle Land Restoration is proud to have served as the construction and installation contractor for the Pacheco Creek Restoration Project, developed in partnership with Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency, H.T. Harvey & Associates, and cbec eco engineering.

Protecting Critical Habitats

This comprehensive restoration effort was designed to preserve, enhance, and restore a diverse array of sensitive environments, including:

  • Central California Sycamore Alluvial Woodland (SAW)
  • Freshwater wetlands and riparian habitats
  • In-stream aquatic and floodplain habitats
  • Seasonal wetlands and off-channel pond habitats

Restoration Scope & Infrastructure

Triangle's scope of work included reconstructing the floodplain to reconnect Pacheco Creek with its side channels, establishing a seasonal wetland, and installing cattle and pig exclusion fencing to protect restored areas. Habitat improvements included SAW plantings, willow riparian forest and scrub, mixed riparian forest and woodland plantings, coastal and valley freshwater marsh plantings, in-stream Post-Assisted Log Structures (PALS), and basking structures for the Western pond turtle.

Long-Term Ecological Stewardship

Beyond construction, Triangle continues to provide ongoing maintenance services, including invasive species removal and irrigation management, to ensure the long-term success and ecological health of this vital restoration project.
