Employee Spotlight: Trace McCown

Trace McCown joined Teichert in 2017 as an Assistant Project Manager, learning the ropes of private subdivision work in Folsom under Project Manager Joe Bean. In just over eight years, he has grown into Chief Estimator for Private Procurement, leading the private estimating team for the North Region.

Trace's path has been focused and progressive. After two years as an Assistant PM, he stepped into a full Project Manager role in 2019, leading Elliott Homes work across the North Region. By 2024 he was a Senior Project Manager overseeing Placer One and Lincoln subdivision work, and at the end of 2025 he moved into his current role leading the private estimating team. Each promotion built directly on the one before it, and the through-line has been consistent growth within a company he chose deliberately.

Trace came to Teichert by choice, leaving what he describes as a good company for a great one. The company's history and reputation drew him in, but it was the people and the culture that made him want to stay and build something here. For anyone considering a career at Teichert, he'd tell you it's a large company that genuinely feels like a small family.
