Employee Spotlight – Sean Collins

Sean Collins' story at Teichert is one of remarkable range, growing from a Quality Assurance Lab Technician in 1993 - testing aggregate production while putting himself through college - to Director of Financial Risk Management at the corporate level today. 

After graduating from CSU Sacramento, Sean transitioned into the Information Services division as a Business Analyst, where he worked on projects like Y2K remediation and a five-year ERP software upgrade. From there he moved into Teichert Precast as a Division Administrative Manager, overseeing budgeting, payroll, and manufacturing cost accounting across two facilities. He then joined the corporate office as Credit and Contracts Manager, leading teams responsible for accounts receivable, credit, collections, and contract negotiations. Each move took him somewhere new - from IT to manufacturing to finance - and each one built on the last. Today, in his role as Director of Financial Risk Management, Sean oversees the company's contracts, credit, insurance, and claims functions enterprise-wide, as well as the management of Teichert's real estate assets. 

What kept Sean at Teichert for over 30 years is straightforward: the people, the culture, and the opportunity to keep growing. The company supported him through every transition, including the ones he never anticipated, and gave him the flexibility to show up for his family along the way - whether that was coaching baseball or leading Boy Scouts. For anyone considering a career here, Sean's path across quality assurance, IT, manufacturing, and corporate finance is a good reminder that a career at Teichert doesn't have to be linear - it just has to be driven by a willingness to learn.
