Employee Spotlight: Nathan Josefowicz
Nathan Josefowicz joined Teichert in 2016 as the first employee of Teichert Solar, hired as a Project Engineer by Ken Schardt to help build the division from the ground up. What started as a two-person team doing less than $10 million in work has grown into a team of nearly 30 people, and Nathan has grown right along with it, moving from PE to Project Manager to Project Executive over the course of ten years.
Nathan came in confident, having worked for a solar general contractor before Teichert, but quickly realized how much he still had to learn. That humility served him well. As a PE he built out the foundational processes and systems that the team still runs on today. By 2019 he was promoted to Project Manager overseeing all solar projects in California, and by 2020 was running Southern California work as well with a growing team reporting to him. In 2023 he stepped into the Project Executive role, where he now leads all project management staff across the Renewables division statewide. Since he started, the division has grown more than eight times its original revenue.
Nathan will tell you he came to Teichert thinking it would be a good stepping stone to get closer to family in Northern California. He quickly realized it was somewhere he wanted to stay. For him, the difference is simple: Teichert doesn't just say it's a family company, it acts like one. The company values your life outside of work, and that's not something you find everywhere. For anyone weighing a career here, his message is consistent: if you put in the work, you will be rewarded, and you won't have to sacrifice everything else to do it.
