Employee Spotlight: Nate Gonzalez

Project Executive | Teichert Construction - Monterey, CA

Nate Gonzalez's path at Teichert wasn't a straight line, and that's part of what makes it his. After building his career from intern to Project Manager over five years, he left in 2019 to pursue a large public works project elsewhere. Two years later, he came back, a decision that says as much about Teichert as anything else in his story.

His time here started in 2014 as an intern out of the Fresno office. After graduating, he joined the newly established Pleasanton office as a Project Engineer in January 2015, helping stand up projects stretching from Marina to San Francisco to Berkeley as the office grew. Promotions followed quickly: Assistant Project Manager by mid-2016, Project Manager by early 2017. Later that year, he helped establish Teichert's satellite presence in the Monterey Bay area, standing up public and private work in a market the company hadn't yet built out. After his two years away, he returned in 2021 as Project Manager, this time training and developing the next round of project engineers, before being promoted to Project Executive for the Monterey office in 2025.

Nate had heard about Teichert's reputation long before he ever worked here, relatives on the craft side had told him for years that it was the place to be if he ever got the chance. What he found after joining matched what he'd been told: people who are good at their jobs and good to work with, genuine investment in safety, and a level of connection across offices that means no one's working in isolation, wherever they're physically based. His advice to anyone considering Teichert is direct: the company's "people first" claim isn't just messaging, and with Teichert taking on new ventures, the room to grow is real.
