Employee Spotlight: Amanda Ahrens

Senior Data, Analytics & AI Manager | Data & Technology Solutions

Amanda Ahrens joined Teichert in February as Senior Data, Analytics & AI Manager, tasked with building the company's new data, analytics, and AI team from scratch. It's early days: much of her focus right now is listening, working with field experts across the business to find where data, analytics, or AI can actually solve a problem, while her team stands up analytics and AI proof-of-concepts, designs a data platform built for findable and usable data, and develops training to grow the workforce's skills in the space.

She came to the role with a decade at Dow Chemical behind her, where she moved from building business intelligence dashboards for commercial and R&D teams into data science for manufacturing, then sustainability data architecture, and eventually led the enterprise Business Intelligence team. That path took her from Michigan, where she studied math at Michigan State University, to Houston, where she earned her MS in Analytics from Texas A&M while working full time. Teichert's opportunity, paired with Sacramento itself, was enough to draw her west for what she expects to be a long-term move.

What's stood out most since arriving is the degree to which people here actually mean it when they talk about relationships and trust. Amanda had heard as much going into her interviews, but says the emphasis feels different in practice than anything she experienced prior, less self-serving, and lighter for it. She's energized by how far Teichert's data and AI work could go, from predictive maintenance on mobile equipment to AI-driven improvements in ready-mix design and describes the moment as early on a long climb: hard going, but worth every step.
