Employee Spotlight: Sarah Arney
For Sarah Arney, the appeal of environmental work at Teichert comes down to a simple distinction: the company doesn't treat environmental compliance as the finish line. The real goal is "doing the right thing," with compliance as the floor, not the ceiling. That's why she built her career here, and it shows in how she describes her work: partnering daily with operations teams and outside regulators to resolve issues before they become problems.
She didn't come to this specialty by accident. Before joining Teichert in 2021, Sarah spent 15 years in environmental roles, including remediation work for an engineering and geology firm and compliance management for a private utility. That experience gave her a real feel for how regulatory agencies think. She started at Teichert as an Environmental Specialist working with the State and Regional Water Boards, moved into the Water Programs Manager role, and recently stepped up to lead the environmental team for Teichert Materials.
What keeps her invested goes beyond the job description. Sarah points to relationships she's built here, with everyone from new hires to longtime retirees, as connections she expects to carry through the rest of her career. She also credits the company's leadership training as a big reason she's stayed. In her words, Teichert is a place where people grow, learn from the best in the field, and never feel like they're doing it alone.
