For Retirees

Once employees retire from Teichert, they have the option of joining the Teichert Employees Retirement Association, known as TERA.

TERA membership is free for the first year following an employee's retirement, and then annual dues are $10 per person per year.

Members get together for organized lunches with guest speakers a few times per year, have an annual picnic each July, assemble food baskets for needy familys during the holidays, and go on an annual bus trip -- previous trips have included Filoli Gardens in Woodside and a trip to the Amador foothills to a local flower farm, wine tasting, and shopping.

Active participation in TERA is the ideal way for our retirees to stay connected with the company, including sharing knowledge with current employees and helping maintain the family environment that Teichert employees have enjoyed for well over a century.

Upcoming TERA events:

The Empire Mine was the richest hard-rock mine in the State of California, producing 5.8 million ounces of gold in its operating history of 106 years from 1850-1956.  George Roberts, the original discoverer of the gold, soon sold his interest. By 1869, William Bourn Sr. owned controlling interest.  The Bourn family maintained control of the mine until 1929, when it was sold to Newmont Mining.  It ceased operation in1956.  In 1975, the State of California purchased the surve property as the Empire Mine State Historic Park.  The park continues to draw thousands of worldwide visitors each year, and it is noted for its historical tours of the Bourn Cottage, the mineyard, and living history events.
